Over 100 guests and local dignataries attended Kaptan June's 85th Birthday Party recently. June was serenaded by the mixed ensemble of guests who sang 'You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby, 'Cos Baby Look At You Now' then each guest held up a candle and sang Happy Birthday. A moving tribute was then presented by long term friend Anthony Vlasto who reflected on June's varied and interesting life. A lavish buffet was then served and June delighted her guests as she sang three songs including 'Star of Dalyan'. Music and dancing took the party into the early hours. The event was sponsored by The Dalyan Queens Hotel with kind assistance from Sevilen Wine. Kaptan June is a long-time Dalyan resident who organized and implemented the environmental campaign responsible for the preservation of Iztuzu Beach and the protection of the endangered Caretta Caretta Sea Turtle which migrate to the beach every year.
